Falcon AI

A voice assistant for my PC that runs entirely on my own hardware. Completely free and local.

FALCON is a desktop locally run AI assistant I have been building for myself. This will never be released for public use for a multitude of reasons. This is one of the most advance pieces of software I have as it can do almost anything I need, coding, modelling, planning, emails, engineering, etc. It is an extremely powerful piece of software. Think of JARVIS but in real life and not some instagram show.

What it does

  • Voice: wake word, local speech recognition and a local voice.
  • Code workshop: writes and runs programs in Python, C++, C#, Java, TypeScript, Kotlin and more, checks the result and tries again until it works.
  • Engineering: electrical and mechanical calculators that show their work with units, SPICE circuit simulation, and a CAD maker that exports STEP files.
  • Camera: a live 30 fps view with measuring, and questions like “what am I holding?”
  • Workshop mode: the code workshop, CAD, engineering tools and camera in the four corners of the screen.
  • Overnight queue: long jobs worked through while I sleep, with a report in the morning.
  • Documents search, reminders, weather, a self-test dashboard and a lot more.

Why local

Privacy and cost are the point. Instead of paying for a bigger model in the cloud, the quality comes from checking and retrying answers, using exact solvers where they exist, and picking the right local model for each job.

It isn’t released. It’s built around my own setup.

Screenshots

How this page is styled (HUD theme)
  • Same colours and type as Falcon itself: near-black, one cyan accent, Bahnschrift (Barlow Semi Condensed where it isn't installed) and Consolas for data.
  • The corner brackets are eight 2-pixel linear-gradient lines in each panel's background. Their length is a registered custom property (@property --b), which is what lets it animate: hover a panel and the brackets reach further.
  • Section titles are spaced capitals followed by a hairline rule, like Falcon's panel titles. The page title types itself in with a stepped clip-path animation.
  • Hover the header picture for a scan line and closing brackets.
  • Screenshots have the city name and the user folder blanked out.
